The Gamer's Home Row
If you are new to PC gaming, the keyboard can feel like a clunky controller. But with a little practice, it becomes an incredibly precise instrument. Almost all browser action and adventure games use the same standard control schemes.
WASD vs. Arrow Keys
The industry standard for movement is W (Up), A (Left), S (Down), and D (Right). Rest your middle finger on W, ring finger on A, and index finger on D. Your thumb should naturally rest on the Spacebar (usually used for jumping or shooting).
Arrow keys are often used in 2-player games or simpler driving games. If a game uses Arrow keys for movement, you will typically use your right hand to steer and your left hand to press Z, X, or Spacebar for actions.

The key is to never look down. Keep your eyes on the screen and trust your hands. Play a simple platformer game slowly at first, focusing on the tactile feel of the keys. Within a few days, WASD will feel as natural as walking.
